Tonight I have left my daughter in Leeds for the start of her new adventure of her five years at University, and heres me heading home to Norwich for the first time in 16years without my chatting co-pilot. What better than to head to the coast and take a couple of shots to remind me of this day with shots of a new dawn.
So after leaving #Leeds at 7pm I finally arrive at Morston Quay in North Norfolk at around 2 am. My aim was to try and take some shots of the harbour with the stars, unfortunately when I arrived the moon was well and truly lighting up the sky drowning out any clear shot of the stars so I used this time to practice, as this was something I had never tried before.

After a little practice and a couple of phone calls from family to see how the day had gone I thought it was time to try and get a little shut eye. However trying to dose of in a car is always difficult, and I don't know about you but I seem to spend more time checking the time than I do sleeping. after an hour trying to catch a little sleep it was time to see what the dawn would bring, slight cloud, but dry.

Looking at my watch, its time to get out of the car and set up, and wait. A slight chill in the air, reminding us that #September is really here and only 13 weeks to Christmas.
The light is just starting to arrive, allowing me now the opportunity to take a good rummage around to see what I can use to set the photo.
Wow!! I could have not asked for a better morning to mark my first visit to #Morston quay, so much to see and take, one visit is not going to be enough, and considering I haven't slept since Thursday night I don't think I could last long today. But slowly as the light arrives I am joined by another keen photographer with the same enthusiasm that I was feeling. I find with taking early morning photos you always think you have all the time in the world, but bang, look away and you have missed it.

I fumbled around with a #polariserfilter to find it was not worth playing with, the reflection from the water was not a problem and it was not long before I took it off. (I use #leesfilters. To be honest I have never used any other product to make judgment on which is the best to use, so I can't give any comments or advise on this subject).
The sky started with some deep colour reflecting nicely off of a scattering of low cloud bringing out a rainbow of colour, but the light came so quickly, a blink and it went from night to day before I had time to take more than three good shots that I was pleased with.
With no need to rush home I had the opportunity to meet Andrew #andrewbamforth , its worth having a look at his #instagram page as he has his work for sale in shops around North Norfolk. It was nice to just spend an hour chatting to someone with a clear passion for where he was living in North Norfolk and ability in achieving a good life balance. Andrew has been taking photos for so much longer than I have, and it was clear I had a lot to learn.

My next trip to North Norfolk is hopefully, weather permitting will be the 5th of October, so if you see me about come over and say hello.
