Feeling Wrecked

I have had a slight break from my camera, due to life and work slightly getting in the way through this period of Covid19 that we will all remember for a long time. With all this to think about it made me think of things that won't be here in some ten years time

and what better than to focus on the coast and the wooden boat wrecks that we pass and take for granted, but truth be known we only have a limited time left of this window of history before they are gone.

I must have been watching this pair for over a year on Google Earth, waiting for the right weather conditions and a clear sky, not totally as I wished and will need another visit to just get the tide a little higher. I arrived at this site at 2 am and sat and waited for dawn, it was a fantastic night, warm, still and so peaceful.

While I was waiting I tried to pick up some Astro shots, and without realising I caught in the left corner a comet.

As dawn approached the sky became so blue.

I am a night owl and mornings are not my best time for getting up, so I tend at this time of the year to sit up all night and maybe travel and take an uncomfortable snooze in the car once I arrive which is guaranteed not to allow me to oversleep.

I am fond of the dawn due to peace, the colours and normally the lack of people, however just sometimes sunset can also be as exciting as this shot, I had looked at this one for a few weeks on Google, and due to visiting the area managed to drive by during the day, heading back 10mins before this shot. one-shot got what I wanted and went home for dinner.

I now have enough on my visit list to keep me going all of autumn, and that's without having to travel more than 2 hours from my base. Some I want to revisit as the weather needs to be just right, some need dawn and others just need the correct light to give them the boost.

This pair are from an area of Fleetwood and have been taken many times by many people, I am always trying to be a little different. Some of my work I tend to look for a finish that would work well printed on canvas and due to this work it as a painting.

This was taken probably 8 years ago, at the time I was proud of taking a rather boring shot with little detail, however, now I would not show this.
Homeward Bound

To bring this to an end I share my recent visit, this was taken last weekend, at the end of a fantastic week of weather I thought I would travel, a two-hour drive to find when I arrived it was raining and very overcast, so with an umbrella, I still went out to take the shot. NOt a shot I am proud of but it has allowed me to review and know what will work next time. I need the tide up halfway to cover all the mud, and of course, a sunrise. Hopefully, this weekend will give me that.

Come back soon and see how it went.
